Building a MAC Palette

Hello lovelies

For a good few months if not a year now, I have wanted to starting building myself a MAC eye shadow palette. Would you believe I've never tried a single one? Oh the beauty blogger shame!

I'm going to start saving up now, I've ordered a 30 slot palette and today I'm going to list all the shades I'd like to fill it with. Then, every time I purchase one I will refer back to this post and let you know. I may provide swatches or mini reviews, I'm not sure yet but there will definitely be pictures and a description at least!

In the mean time, it's just a boring list I'm afraid...

5 MakeUp Brushes Every Girl Needs

Hello lovelies

Today I want to share with you 5 make-up brushes that, I think, every girl should have.

Disclaimer: The brushes in the pictures aren't necessarily the exact brand you need, just the brand I own and so have photographed.

The first one is the buffing brush. This brush is fantastic for perfecting the flawless base.

The big face brush is a must have. It can be used for powder, blush application, bronzing and blending. A multitasking gem in the beauty world.

The detailer is a good sized brush to carry with you, it can be used for concealer, lip products, highlighting or ever brows if you really wanted to get the use out of it.

The fluffy brush is one of the first make-up brushes I ever bought. I couldn't do eye shadow without it. I personally think it is the best for eye shadow application and I like blending out with this one too.

Finally the 'pencil' brush (I use quotation marks as I'm not sure if this is the official name but it's what I call it) can be used in the crease or for under eye concealer (specifically the Real Techniques crease brush for the latter). This brush is good for creating depth in a look.

What brushes couldn't you go without?

To Travel the World...

Hello lovelies

Another non beauty related post for you today - you'd never know I was a self proclaimed beauty blogger would you? I am enjoying branching out though so watch this space.

Today I thought I'd tell you all the places on the map I'd like to visit at some point in my life, while I'm still young I hope. First to conquer that fear of long distance flights though. I've only spent an hour on a plane in my life and I felt quite ill.

1. Greece

Now don't ask me why because I simply don't know but I have always, always wanted to go on holiday to Greece. It just appeals to me for some reason.

2. New Zealand

When I think of New Zealand I'm not sure what really comes to mind but when I saw this picture on Google images I knew I had to use it. What attracts me to visit here is the contrast of mountains to beaches. It's a beautiful place with something for everyone.

3. South Africa

South Africa attracts me because it's so gorgeous and I'd just love to walk on the beaches and look up at the stars over Cape Town.

4. Brighton

So a location a lot closer to home I'd like to go to is Brighton. I want to explore The Lanes, check out Choccywoccydoodah and take a walk down the pier. The ideal mini break on a budget, I'm planning to go in the summer.

5. Paris

Come on, who doesn't want to visit the famous city of love and look at the view from the top of the Eiffel tower? I hear the shopping is pretty great there too.

6. Italy

Italy. Pizza, pasta, ice cream. Oh and the culture is pretty cool too...

7. The Maldives

They say a picture speaks one thousand words. Well this picture speaks to me. It is saying visit me, come and relax and walk on the white beaches and float on the calm waters and sunbathe on those comfy beds and be content. Perfection.

8. Orlando

According to my mum ever since I was little I've wanted to go to America with my Auntie. I still want that. I want to feel the Disney magic. Swim with dolphins. You know the story...

9. California

Being a Cali girl for a little while has always appealed; sun, sea, sand and shopping! Every girl's dream. No?

10. The Isle of Wight

So maybe I've left the least exciting until the end but the Isle of Wight is just somewhere, similar to my home, that I've always wanted to visit and one day I will.

So that's my lot. Where would you like to go on holiday? Is there somewhere you've been and would recommend? I'd love to hear about it.

Until next time

Wishlist #1

Hello lovelies

So I've seen a lot of wish list posts around and I haven't done one since before Christmas so I've decided to start a new series of wish lists, a different one each week, starting today with makeup.

Although I'll admit this is not the best put together collage this is what's on my current makeup wishlist (if only the money fairy would drop by my house).

MAC mineralise skin finish in soft and gentle - This has been on my list for a while and I am desperate to try it out!

Illamasqua glamore collection nail polishes - I adore the look of these and the thought of 'adult glitter' makes me smile. I'd like to try two out of the three shades (the orange doesn't appeal).

Revlon highlighting pallete in peach glow - This looks so perfect and I'm on the hunt for a new highlighter for Spring. They say this is a good dupe for the Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks but more affordable so I'm up for that.

MAC blush in Petal Pink - From the 'A Fantasy of Flowers' collection of 2014 this blush is right up my street. There are a lot good reviews about MAC blushes and I feel like this one is a good place to start.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip balms - These look like my kind of lip product. I'm all up for shimmer and gloss but a good old subtle matte is as good as anything.

Bare Minerals Make-up - I'd like to get into mineral makeup because I'm never happy with how a foundation makes my skin look and I'm not the best at colour matching. I want to look after my skin more this year and so cutting back on the product is a good place to start.

Bourjous Colour Edition 24hr - As a fan of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos and the old swipe and go eye looks, I just have to try Bourjois' new cream shadows. This is one of my favourite high street brands and so I'm excited to see what they can offer.

Ted Baker Make-up Bag - I need a new (and bigger) make-up bag and the Ted Baker ones are so beautiful (and so expensive). I've been lusting after one for a while now (remember my Christmas wish list?).

Benefit Gimme Brows - These were released this week and from the reviews I have read they look great. A tinted brow gel that looks natural and doesn't go crispy? Surely such a think doesn't exist? We shall see!

That's all for this wish list - it was a long one I know. There'll be a new one next Thursday.

Until next time

TMI Tag #1

Hello lovelies!

Today I thought I'd do the TMI tag, I first saw Carrie Hope Fletcher do it on YouTube and have since seen it floating around a lot of blogs and thought it would be the best way to let you get to know me a bit better since you don't know much about me besides the fact I'm a bit of a beauty obsessive.

What are you wearing? Black leggings from NEXT and a cammi top from ASOS

Ever been in love? Nope not with a human but I love all my animals if that counts...

Ever had a terrible breakup? Thankfully not

How tall are you? 5 foot 7" and 3/4

How much do you weigh? I don't usually tell people my weight but you're all a lovely lot so I'm just over 18 stone. I know this is unhealthy and I'm working on the weight loss so I'll report any progress I make!

Any tattoos? Nope

Any piercings? Just ears :)

OTP? I'm not really in to shipping but Janya (Tanya Burr and Jim Chapman) are my favourite internet couple

Favourite show? How could I possibly choose a favourite?

Favourite bands? In terms of bands I like McFly and some Take That songs - yup I'm old school but I'm more into solo musicians really

Something you miss? Seeing my closest friends every day, I've seen so little of them since leaving high school :( Thank god for Facebook and iMessage!

Favourite song? There are so many! I like Waterfalls and Love is easy among lots AND LOTS of others

How old are you? 16

Zodiac sign? Virgo - I am such a stereotypical virgo as well - analytic, check! observant, check! precise, check! reliable, check! helpful, check! tidy, check! skeptical, check! fussy, check!

Quality you look for in a partner? They have to be genuine

Favourite quote? I don't have a favourite quote - sometimes I think I do and then I see a new one and it changes. There are lots of inspirational quotes so I'd rather not limit myself to a 'favourite'

Favourite actor? Adam Sandler makes me laugh

Favourite colour? Purple but I also like white and gold

Loud or soft music? Soft!!!!!

Where do you go when you're sad? My bedroom or for a walk or to see my horse - she always cheers me up

How long does it take you to shower? 20 minutes unless I have time to chill then I probably spend three quarters of an hour just standing, thinking under the hot water... ah bliss!

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Around half an hour

Ever been in a physical fight? Nope, well kind of - do annoying little brothers count?

Turn on? Kindness

Turn off? They smoke

That's all for today, I know I get bored with posts that are too long so I decided to split this tag into two posts, for the other half come back this time next week!

If you've done this tag comment or tweet me the link so I can read/watch it! If not, just tell me a random fact about you.

Until next time

Afternoon Tea

Hello lovelies
I was lucky enough to go out again for afternoon tea today, once again to somewhere I've not been before and so I thought I would share some more pictures with you since I enjoyed doing the last post so much. It's been such a fantastic first day of Spring. Merry March everybody!

This time I was the healthy one, while my friend went for a slice of fancy looking chocolate torte I opted for a yummy toasted tea cake which came with an adorable complimentary pot of strawberry jam.

Oooh look who got bigger pictures that don't look so strange now ;)

What did you do this weekend?

Until next time
